  • Market Intelligence: 

    • Drawing on a solid understanding of energy market fundamentals, monitor and analyze wholesale electricity markets with a multi-geographical scope: Spain, ERCOT, Australia NEM, Italy and Japan.

    • Assess short- and long-term power price trends, capacity markets, ancillary services, and renewable energy certificate markets.  Conducting high-quality quantitative analysis to identify market patterns and trends, translating findings into strategic positioning for the company

    • Produce regular market reports and briefings for senior management and investment committees

    • Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from market operators, regulatory filings, and third-party data providers to support commercial and strategic decision-making

    • Develop and maintain energy price forecasting models to support project in house project valuations.

    • Collaborate with third-party energy consultants and review independent market studies (e.g., Aurora, Longspur, Wood Mackenzie) to validate internal assumptions.

  • Energy Policy and Regulation: 

    • Track legislative and regulatory developments at the federal and state level that may impact renewable energy markets, project economics, or offtake structures.

    • Assess the implications of policy changes on the company US portfolio and pipeline, and communicate key findings to relevant internal stakeholders.

    • Liaise with industry associations, external counsel, and consultants to stay ahead of regulatory proceedings and emerging policy trends.

    • Contribute to internal briefings and position papers to support senior leadership in policy-related decision-making.

    • Identify regulatory risks and opportunities across target markets and incorporate them into market analysis and commercial strategy.

  • Project Pipeline Support: 

    • Provide market analysis to support development decisions, interconnection strategy, and site selection for new US solar and storage projects.

    • Evaluate energy storage economics, co-location opportunities, and participation in capacity and ancillary markets.

    • Contribute to investment memos and board presentations with commercial market analysis.



  • Due Diligence Support: Support due diligence processes for M&A transactions, project acquisitions, financing rounds, and partnership opportunities by providing market data analysis, power price assumptions, and regulatory risk assessments. Developing and building conviction around revenue projections for renewable asset portfolios through a combination of in-house analysis and managing external consultants in coordination with investment funds and banks.

  • Cross functional collaboration: As part of the Energy Markets team you will work closely with the other areas in the commercial division: collaborating with PPA structuring and BESS optimization strategies. But you will also support Business Development local offices to support project pipeline decisions, and the M&A and Finance teams to provide market inputs for transactions and financing processes.

El perfil que buscamos

  • 4+ years of experience in energy markets, power trading, or renewable energy commercial roles.

  • Familiarity with market rules, market design, and tariff structures.

  • Proficiency in energy price forecasting methodologies and tools (Aurora, Plexos, PROMOD, or similar).

  • Understanding of PPA structures, VPPA mechanics, and offtake risk in renewable energy transactions.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/data analysis; experience with Python or R for data processing is a plus.

  • Ability with AI and machine learning applications in the energy sector to accelerate report drafting, data interpretation, and scenario analysis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear strategic insights.

  • Ability to take ownership of work and deliver results in a team-oriented environment.

  • Flexibility and ability to deal with multitasking activities at the same time.
