Fundraising & Investor Relations
Lead equity fundraising efforts at both fund and project levels for renewable energy and battery storage projects in Japan.
Manage the full fundraising cycle: investor identification, outreach, roadshows, due diligence coordination, negotiation, and closing.
Develop and maintain relationships with Japanese capital providers, including pension funds, insurance companies, regional banks, family offices, and infrastructure funds.
Market & Player Knowledge
Utilize deep understanding of the Japanese renewable energy market, including key players (developers, utilities, financial institutions, government agencies).
Identify and engage with strategic investors, industrial corporates, and listed companies active in Japan’s energy transition.
Capital Structuring & Execution
Structure equity and quasi-equity investment solutions for solar and BESS projects.
Prepare investment teasers, pitch decks, IC memoranda, and LP presentations.
Coordinate with legal, tax, and technical advisors on deal documentation (term sheets, investment agreements).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with internal development, legal, and finance teams to ensure alignment on project financing strategies.
Represent the company at industry conferences and investor events in Japan.
4–6 years of relevant experience in:
Equity fundraising or capital raising for infrastructure / renewable energy projects.
Project finance, private equity, or investment management within the renewable energy sector.
Battery storage (BESS) experience – even if limited (e.g., involvement in one or two transactions, financial modeling, or due diligence for storage projects). Familiarity with storage economics is required.
Japan market expertise: Demonstrated existing relationships with Japanese investors (institutional LPs, family offices, regional banks) and a solid understanding of local regulatory frameworks, market players (developers, utilities, trading houses), and business culture.
Proven ability to close equity rounds or project financings in Japan.
Strong financial modeling and presentation skills.
Fluent in Japanese (business level) and English. Mandarin is a plus but not required.
Willing to work full-time on-site in Tokyo (local candidates or those ready to relocate immediately).

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated infrastructure finance professional with 4–6 years of experience to join our team in Tokyo. This role is focused on equity fundraising and project-level capital raising for renewable energy infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and solar projects. The successful candidate will be based in Tokyo and work on-site full time, leveraging their local network and market knowledge to secure funding from Japanese institutional investors, family offices, and development banks.
