The Lead Engineer will serve as the technical cornerstone for the Renewables discipline. You will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of solar, storage, and minigrid projects—from the initial conceptual design and bidding phase to the management of detailed engineering and execution.
Technical Engineering Excellence: Acting as the primary technical authority, you will design optimized energy solutions (Solar PV, BESS, Minigrids) in-house, ensuring the best LCOE and managing complex technical variables from PVsyst modeling to MV/LV systems.
Strategic Bid Management: You will lead the technical and economic structuring of bids. This includes BoQ/BoM generation, cost analysis, and risk mitigation, ensuring our proposals are both competitive and technically sound for EPC and IPP processes.
Project Management & Coordination: Beyond design, you will manage the transition to execution by evaluating equipment suppliers and overseeing outsourced detailed engineering firms. You will ensure projects stay within contractual and budgetary frameworks while acting as the face of the company for clients and stakeholders.
Bidding Phase (In-house):
Develop technical solutions for Solar PV, BESS, and Minigrids to achieve optimal LCOE.
Generate full Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and Bills of Materials (BoM).
Perform supplier analysis, cost estimation, and budget generation for EPC/IPP models.
Conduct contractual reviews and technical risk mitigation analysis.
Represent the company as the technical lead during client negotiations and bid presentations.
Project Phase (Execution Management):
Lead the technical evaluation and recommendation of primary equipment.
Coordinate and oversee outsourced firms responsible for Detailed Engineering and Construction designs.
Ensure all engineering deliverables align with contractual requirements and budgetary constraints.
Serve as the project’s technical point of reference for all stakeholders.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Design/Engineering of Utility Scale Ground Mounted Solar PV (5MWp to 100MWp), including experience with trackers (FT) and fixed tilt (SAT).
Technical Proficiency: Expert handling of PVsyst.
Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of Solar Yield calculations, LV/MV cabling, grounding, protection systems, SCADA, and communications.
Languages: Fluent in English. Proficiency in French is a significant advantage.
Sector Exposure: Experience in BESS, Minigrids, and International Projects (specifically in Africa) is a plus.
