The Construction Director will be the primary lead for the execution of a landmark 1,000 MW (1 GW) solar photovoltaic project in Arad, Romania. The successful candidate will transition the project from its current development stage into full-scale execution and commissioning.
Technical Functions & Responsibilities
Giga-Scale Project Management: Oversee the construction of a 1 GW facility, managing the technical complexity inherent in projects exceeding the standard utility-scale threshold.
Critical Path & Schedule Control: Monitor daily progress to ensure the project meets its 18-month to 2-year construction timeline.
Grid & Infrastructure Oversight: Supervise the construction of high-voltage substations and transmission lines required for a project of this magnitude.
Quality & Commissioning: Implement rigorous QA/QC protocols and oversee the commissioning phase until the start of operations.
Logistics in Remote Areas: Manage supply chain and resource deployment in a non-cosmopolitan area, ensuring the project remains resourced despite geographic challenges.
Contractor Management: Oversee EPC contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety standards.
Technical Reporting: Provide weekly updates on construction milestones and physical progress to the CEO and external consultants.
Education: Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Energy Engineering is required.
Experience: Minimum of 15 to 20 years in the energy sector.
Track Record: Proven experience managing PV projects between 150 MW and 300 MW (minimum).
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for internal reporting and stakeholder management. Knowledge of Romanian is considered a significant advantage.
Location: Remote site in Arad, Romania, requiring consistent physical presence.
